Girls and Boys Run the Distance Cross country runners at Padua Franciscan High School are willing to go the distance, academically and athletically. These students are ready for anything. They run in the wind, rain, and snow, never knowing what to expect. Both the boys’ and girls Junior Varsity and Varsity teams will continue on their winning ways. The Boys’ Cross Country Team has won the North Coast League Title four times (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005). The Girls’ Cross Country Team has won two NCL titles (1995, 2002). The Boys’ squad were District Runner-Ups twice (1969, 1970) and District Winners in 2004. The Girls’ team were District Runner-ups twice (1995, 1996) and District Winner in 2011.

Early Bird Invitational — 9/4/10
Improvement is the theme this season for the Bruins. This past week at the Avon Lake Early Bird Invitational the boys and girls teams continued to show that hard work leads to improvement. On the boys side, JR. Evan Bialosky led the way with a time of 18:02, good for 14th place. SR. Colton Giordano also ran well with a time of 18:47. FR. Pete Krafcik, SO. Ryan Seballos and JR. Jake Michallakes rounded out the scoring as the guys finished in 9th place overall. On the Girls side, SO. Regina Jakubowski used a strong kick to finish in a time of 21:38. JR. Michelle Komorowski was not far behind in a time of 21:47. SO. Renee Kraft and JR. Sondra Palivoda and Jackie Morrell rounded out the scoring as the girls finished 13th overall.
Rebel Run — 8/28/10
In the season opener at Willoughby South High School the Bruins came out and showed that they are a team to look out for this season. On the boys side, Junior Evan Bialoosky, running in his first ever XC race, finished 15th overall with a time of 17:40. Senior Colton Giordano was next to cross the line in a time of 18:41. Sophomore Ryan Seballos, Junior AJ Fallaro, and Junior Jake Michalakes rounded out the scoring as the Bruins finished 8th out of 15 teams. On the girls side, Senior Grace Lambert led the way with a 22nd place finish in a time of 21:41. Sophomore Regina Jakubowski follwed her in 26th place with a time of 21:57. Junior’s Michelle Komorowski and Jackie Morrell along with Sophmore Renee Kraft rounded out the scoring as the Bruins finished 4th out of 13 teams.
