The Padua football team boasts a strong presence on the field and generates school spirit and excitement. Students can compete at the freshman, junior varsity, and varsity levels. The "no-cut policy" means any student can be part of the team. The Bruins were State Runner-ups in 1979. The Bruins won Crown Conference Titles in 1974 and 1979. PFHS has won the North Coast League title four times (1986, 1993, 1994, 2000).

Bruins Battle To the End Versus Mayfield In OHSAA Playoffs.
The Padua Franciscan football team fell to Mayfield H.S. in the Regional Quarterfinal contest on Nov. 2 at Padua Franciscan High School, 12-10. The Bruins finished the season with a record of 7-4 and advanced to the OHSAA playoffs for the first time since 2003.
