Yanmaz to Head Girls Soccer Program
Padua Franciscan announced today that it has selected Tolga Yanmaz as new head coach of its girls soccer program. Yanmaz currently coaches for the Whitecaps Soccer Club, having previously coached at Solon High School (2004–2009) where he compiled a 40–6-18 record. He also was assistant soccer coach at Notre Dame College (2004–2005).
In his youth, Yanmaz played for the Turkey U18 National soccer team (1994–1995). He played for Borough Manhattan Community College where he was selected as an All-Star during his freshman year. Recruited by Franklin Pierce College, he played the remainder of his college years there, leading the team as captain.
“Tolga brings a blend of high school and club experiences to our program,” says Kevin Leigh, Padua’s athletic director. “I’m excited to have him lead our girls soccer program.”
