The Lady Bruins have a competitive tradition that keeps the excitement alive on the court. The Bruins have played their way to District Championship and beyond. Young ladies have the opportunity to try out for freshman, junior varsity, and varsity teams. The Bruins have won the District Championship four times (1989, 1990, 2001, 2004). The Bruins have captured the NCL title once (1993).
Bruins Begin OHSAA Tournament vs. Beaumont
The girls basketball team (10-10) will begin the OHSAA Sectional Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 12th at St. Joseph Academy versus Beaumont H.S. at 7:45 p.m. Presale Tickets are available in the athletic office. Below is the 2008 OHSAA Girls' Basketball Bracket.

Padua Upsets Lake Catholic in Girls' Basketball
The Bruins used strong rebounding and timely shooting on senior night to upset the #24 ranked Lake Catholic Cougars on Wed., Jan. 23rd, 42-41 at Padua Franciscan H.S. Senior Jessica Grzybowksi led all scorers with 18 points and pulled down 11 reounds to limprove the Bruins to 9-7 overall and 5-4 in the NCL. Sophomore Kayla Mason had 8 points while senior captian Cathy Jindra chipped in 6 points. The Bruins will play their first OHSAA Sectional contest on Feb. 11th vs. Beaumont H.S. at 7:45 p.m. at St. Joseph Academy.
