The Bruin grapplers built a reputation in the 1990's with their technique and strategy that resulted in individual state champions and multiple league championships. Padua students can wrestle for the the junior varsity and varsity teams. The Bruins were State Runner-Ups in 1990 as well as District Runner-Up. The Bruins have captured the NCL crown six times (1994, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2004, 2005 ,2006). The Bruins have had five individual State Champions:
Brian Keck (1990), Jesse Clark (1996), Patrick McLemore (2003, 2006), Kurt Gross (2003), Shane Friery (2005)

Nine Wrestlers Move On To District Tournament
The Bruins wrestling team finished second overall at the Highland Division II Sectional Tournament on Feb. 16th. PFHS advanced nine wrestlers to the District Torurnament including four sectional champions (Andrew Romanchik-103, Collan DaFonseca-119, Anthony Mellilo-130, Riley Kilroy-160). The Bruins will compete in the Fostoria Disctrict Tournament on Feb. 22-23. Below are the results from the Sectional Tournament.

Bruin Wrestlers Win NCL Championships-Feb. 3rd
Saturday, Feb. 2nd is a day many Padua wrestling fans will never forget. In front of a stunned crowd at Lake Catholic H.S., the Bruin wrestlers shocked the entire NCL winning its seventh NCL crown with 163 1/2 points. The Bruins had eight wrestlers in the finals including four conference winners. Here are the results of the Bruin wrestlers on Saturday :
-103 lb Freshman Andrew Romanchik defeated two state ranked wrestlers in the semifinal and final to raise his season record to 29-4 and become NCL CHAMPION.
-119 lb Freshman Collan DaFonseca defeated a top ranked state wrestler in the semi-final and then pinned his final opponent to raise his record to 24-11 and become NCL CHAMPION.
-125 lb Junior Steve DeSciscio defeated the #1 seed in the semifinal and then lost a close match in the final to place second.
-135 lb Freshman Mike Sustar had a pin in consolation to add to our team points.
-145 lb Sophomore Eric Platt had two pins in consolations to add to the team points!
-152 lb Senior Tom Andrich defeated the #4 seed and then the #1 seed in the semifinal before losing a close match in the finals to place second.
-160 lb Sophomore Riley Kilroy dominated his class with a 15-2 major dec in the semifinal and a 1st period pin in the final to raise is season record to 31 - 4 and earn is second NCL CHAMPIONSHIP !
-171 lb Sophomore Andy Baker had two pins before losing a close match in the finals to place second!
-189 lb Senior Mark Gaydosh had two pins and a 7- 4 win in the finals to become a two-time NCL CHAMPION !
-215 lb Sophomore Joe Gatto had two pins on his way to the finals before losing a close match to place second.
