Padua Teacher Wins Playwriting Contest

DSC_0225 2Congratulations to our English teacher (and playwright), Rebecca Gellott, the 2015 winner of the A+ Playwriting Contest for Teachers, with her stage adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved classic, Pride and Prejudice.  Designed especially for high school, amateur, and semi-professional theatre companies, this outstanding adaptation provides ample opportunities for female leads.  Ms. Gellott utilizes a much more modern design concept for this Regency-era romantic comedy, including contemporary projection elements, lighting, and multifunctional set pieces to help younger, more modern audiences relate to this otherwise traditional period piece.

Pioneer Drama Service is proud to publish Pride and Prejudice.  It has a cast of 9 males, 13 females, plus extras, and has a running time of 120 minutes.  It will be available in December 2015.  Pre-orders can be placed online at any time.
