Class of 1989 – 25 Years and Beyond!

What’s Next?

Many members of the Padua Franciscan Class of 1989 participated in our 25th reunion events (Mass, Tour, and Party at the House of Blues) in July 2014. But that is only the beginning!  We encourage you to stay connected to each other and to Padua in a variety of ways.  We need each and every one of you!

Keep In Touch!

There are several ways to “KIT” with classmates:

Padua Alumni Directory:  The Padua Franciscan on-line alumni directory is available to all graduates to help them stay connected with classmates. The directory has recently undergone several upgrades and is now available for users to access via the alumni link on Padua’s website or directly at   As a result of the upgrades to the system, all alumni will be required to register to obtain access to the directory. IMPORTANT… When arriving at the log-in page, all alumni should start by clicking on register for a new account. This will ensure all users have the most recent contact and e-mail address. Once registered, you can then use your email address and the secure password you create for future log ins.

Facebook:  Please join our Facebook group Padua Class of 1989 – 25 Years and Beyond! ( to stay connected. Though originally started as a means to generate attendance at the 25th reunion, the group has now been repurposed to encourage classmates to remain connected in between formal reunion events. PLEASE help us by adding your Padua ’89 friends to this group, if they are not already members.

Happy Hours: So many people want to stay in touch that we are trying to schedule some centrally-located happy hours for those in the Cleveland burbs.  If you can attend, we’d love to have you.  Classmates in other cities are encouraged to have their own local events (Bruin Backers in all major cities, right??).  Watch this space and Facebook for further details.

Shutterfly:  Michelle Phillips Kubick created a Shutterfly page for everyone to continue to share photos.  Check it out here.

DropBox Video:  Download the video created by Joe Konecny which played on television screens throughout the House of Blues. (ADD LINK)

Drop By!

Whether you live near or far, Laurie Keco Grabowski (440-845-2444 x171) or Kevin Leigh (440-845-2444 x128) would be happy to conduct personal tours for any classmate (and family!) who can arrange a visit.  Though advance notice is always better, we will do our best to accommodate drop-in requests.

Attend Padua Events!

Come to athletic events, fine arts events, all school masses… whatever works with your schedule and is important to you.  Check out the Calendars page for details.

Rob Holz (Alumni Director, 440-845-2444 x106) is seeking a few representatives from each class who are willing to work with him to expand and improve alumni relations. In addition, the Alumni Association would love to increase its active membership.  Contact Rob for additional details.

Laurie Keco Grabowski (440-845-2444 x171) and Kevin Leigh (440-845-2444 x128) can also help direct you to the right person if you want to volunteer for Athletics, Fine Arts, Campus Ministry, MedTrack, and so on.

Can we count on you?

Send Your Kids to Padua!

We are the Bruins and the Bruins are best!!  Legacies (children of alumni) generally make up 15% of each incoming class and we’d love for that number to grow.  The time to start talking to your children about Padua is at birth, by dressing them in a Padua onesie available in the Bruin Shop!  Your kids can attend special recruiting events here at school, even down at the grade school level.  Students as young as fourth grade are invited to participate in Summer Experience as well as a multitude of other camps and workshops (from cheerleading to flag corp and more).  Older children are invited to participate in more formal Open Houses and the shadowing program. You can learn more on our Admissions page. Don’t underestimate the importance of creating your own Padua Legacy!

Lend Your Financial Support!

Remember the excitement and joy you felt when seeing old Padua friends at the reunion . . . The memories which surfaced in the weeks leading up to the event as you scoured old photo albums . . . The times when you couldn’t help but think, “Yes, what we had was special.”  We need your help to ensure that the next generation of students can create their own memories and keep the Padua tradition alive. We cannot do it alone.  It’s time to step up.

We’ve established the Class of 1989 Fund within the Padua Franciscan High School Endowment Trust as a continuing remembrance of classmates who are no longer with us.  The fund will be managed for the long-term benefit of the school, primarily for tuition assistance.  Please help us reach the required minimum $10,000 by donating electronically or by writing a check to the Padua Franciscan High School Endowment Trust, 6740 State Rd., Parma, OH  44134.  The memo line should notate Class of 1989 Fund.  Keep in mind that many employers will match your donation, helping to increase the balance in the Fund, and thus the amount we can distribute to students. Class members can donate here.

In addition, under the leadership of Padua’s new President, Fr. Allan DaCorte, O.F.M., Padua is entering a critical phase in its history.  With new lockers, a new locker room, new turf on the field, and a Chromebook for every student, the excitement at Padua is palpable. In the coming months, we will be seeking support for the next phase of the building upgrades.  If you would be willing to receive a phone call or personal meeting to learn more, please contact Laurie or Kevin. We know that the Class of 1989 will lead the way in support for this transformational initiative.

Whether Athletics, Fine Arts, Campus Ministry, MedTrack, or any other school program, you can support your favorite HERE.

Thanks for all that you do to make Padua a very special place.
