Several members of the Padua Community teamed up with Mission Possible to be part of their week-long mission trip to the Dominican Republic. The trip was packed with meaningful experiences for the students and adults who made the long journey. They faced difficult working conditions including oppressive heat, but that did not stop them from putting love in action, the theme of the trip. The missionaries demolished homes in danger of falling down, painted homes, and moved thousands of pounds of gravel and clay to improve drainage and prevent future flooding. The group packed essential items like rice, cooking oil and more for distribution to families in need. They made general repairs throughout the community, and erected a new basketball hoop and utility pole.

The team also spent meaningful time together as a community praying, enjoying meals, playing games, dancing, swimming in the ocean and watching sunsets. Matteo Dabramo ’25 might have summed it up best, “It is impossible to state how amazing this trip has been. We have been blessed with amazing missionaries, unforgettable memories, beautiful scenery, and most of all, we have been blessed with the opportunity to make a difference.”
