Some people wear their heart on their sleeve. The Goebel family, who operate Barons Bus Lines, display their faith on their buses. Every Barons bus has a large red cross painted on the back and the words “God Bless.”

The Goebels operate the bus line and other enterprises, including a youth hockey organization and volleyball facility, from a spacious building on Hauserman Road in Parma.

The Goebels support a number of ministries, including the St. Augustine Hunger Center. With the help of many volunteers, including Padua students, faculty, staff and coaches – they prepared 16,000 meals last Thanksgiving as part of the hunger center’s holiday meal program. Together, they helped prep the gravy, potatoes and other vegetables and packaged the meals, so they were ready for delivery.
