Kacey Pagano Named National Merit Semifinalist

A letter from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation was presented to Kacey Pagano ’19 by Principal David Stec ’86 on September 12, 2018.

Padua Franciscan High School senior Kacey Pagano ’19 was recognized as a National Merit Semifinalist.

Approximately 16,000 Semifinalists throughout the nation have been recognized for their exceptional academic promise. These Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. More than 1.6 million students entered the 2019 competition by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Over 90 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to advance to the National Merit Finalist standing. They will be notified in February 2019.

As a graduate of St. Albert the Great School, Kacey is a well-rounded student – who is involved in many programs, teams and clubs at Padua. She is a four-year participant in our MedTrack® program and completed an externship at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. Kacey is a member of National Honor Society. She is a leader in our Student Ambassador program and youth summer camps. She is a member of the Varsity Girls Soccer team, Latin Club, American Sign Language Club and Astronomy Club. She volunteers with seniors living with dementia or Alzheimer’s at several local nursing homes.
