MedTrack students from the Classes of 2021 and 2022 participated in a day of service at Scranton Castle, part of Cuyahoga County Metro Housing. They planted flowers and painted rain barrels to add to the beauty and functionality of the existing community garden located in the courtyard area. Padua students joined “community navigators” from AmeriCorps who were hired under a grant spearheaded by Baldwin Wallace Professor Dr. Laura Hopkins ’07. The role of the community navigator is to help residents overcome barriers, both knowledge and physical challenges such as transportation, to alleviate food insecurity.
