Principal David Stec ’86 was surprised with the honor of becoming a Franciscan Affiliate of the Sacred Heart Province. Provincial Minister Fr. Tom Nairn, ofm presented Mr. Stec with a Franciscan Affiliate medal at the Bruin Benefit on Saturday, April 24, 2021.

Affiliation to the Province calls attention to an individual who identifies with the Franciscan values, as well as living a life consistent with the values in the mission. The Provincial accepts a petition for affiliation from the friars who can attest to the individual’s quality of life. The affiliate benefits from a fraternal relationship with the friars, inclusion in the daily prayer of the friars and communication with significant happenings in the friar community.

“Our Franciscan Province supports David fraternally, as well as spiritually, as the first lay president of Padua, beginning on July 1, 2021,” said Padua President Fr. Allan DaCorte, ofm.

Mr. Stec joins a small community of affiliates from the Padua Franciscan family, including + Sally Brody, Gary Ellis, Paul Lorz and Terry Monnolly.
