Senior Awards Banquet 2020

The Padua Franciscan community celebrated its outstanding students during the Senior Awards Banquet at the Woodside Event Center at St. Michael’s on Sunday, July 12, 2020. Click here to watch the event, which begins at the 30 minute mark.

Several of our seniors have made the commitment to serve the United States of America in the Armed Forces. Thank you to the following Bruins for their commitment and service to our country:

– Lukas Bewley – The Marine Corps
– Rocco Cornacchione – The Marine Corps
– Gabe de Almeida – The Brazilian Navy
– Chris Lawriw – United States Air Force
– Michelle Lew – Ohio Army National Guard
– Manus McCaffery – Army National Guard

The Class of 2020 has been offered over $13 million in non-need-based scholarships. These scholarships testify to the quality and value of a Padua Franciscan education.

The Class of 2020’s valedictorian is Angela Falconi (4.936 GPA). She is a graduate of St. Ambrose School. The salutatorian is Nicole Lippucci (4.866 GPA). She is a graduate of St. Columbkille School.

In keeping with Padua tradition, each year the Padua faculty has the honor of selecting one senior young man and woman who best represent the ideals of Padua Franciscan High School. The awards of Mr. and Miss Paduan are given to the seniors who exemplify the finest characteristics of the ideal Padua man and woman. All facets of personality are considered in the selection for this honor including Christian values, Franciscan compassion, academic dedication, strong character, superior leadership qualities, and concerned citizenship.

The following students were nominated for Mr. Paduan: Gabe Abood, Jack Atkins, Grant Bell, Pete Heinzerling and Cameron Rogers. The Mr. Paduan 2020 award went to Cameron Rogers.

The following students were nominated for Miss Paduan: Elizabeth Clemente, Colleen Doucette, Ella Mihacevich, Maria Rich and Sarah Zimmerli.  The Miss Paduan 2020 award went to Maria Rich.

Unique to Padua’s Athletic Department is the coveted Mr. and Miss Bruin awards. The Athletic Department and coaches select the seniors who most deserve the honor of the best athlete at Padua. The qualities on which the athletes are evaluated are their athletic skills, high school athletic achievements, participation, coachability, sportsmanship, leadership, academics, and school involvement.

The following students were nominated for Mr. Bruin: Jack Atkins, Charlie Beatty, Johnny Harris, Pete Heinzerling, Manus McCaffery, Nick Prusovic, Jonathan Rusin and Carson Smith. The Mr. Bruin 2020 award went to Johnny Harris.

The following students were nominated for Miss Bruin: Chloe Amoroso, Elizabeth Clemente, Ella Mihacevich, Madison Miles, Samantha Ott, Devan Peterson and Alex Stocker. The Miss Bruin 2020 award went to Chloe Amoroso.

The Phi Beta Kappa Award is meant to recognize a student who exemplifies outstanding scholarship, shows academic initiative, and embodies total achievement. The 2020 Phi Beta Kappa Award went to Sarah Zimmerli.
