Senior Awards Assembly 2022

The Padua Franciscan community celebrated its outstanding students during the Senior Awards Assembly at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Friday, May 20, 2022.

One graduating senior made the commitment to serve the United States of America in the Armed Forces. Thank you for your commitment and service to our country:
Evan Buchholz – Air Force (ROTC program at Ohio University)

The Class of 2022 has been offered $15 million in non-need-based scholarships. These scholarships testify to the quality and value of a Padua Franciscan education.

The Class of 2022’s valedictorian is Matthew Harley, Jr. (4.88 GPA). He is a graduate of St. Ambrose School and plans to attend Saint Louis University. The salutatorian is Anna Lindenmuth (4.79 GPA). She is a graduate of St. Albert the Great School and plans to attend the University of Dayton.

In keeping with Padua tradition, each year the Padua faculty has the honor of selecting a senior young man and woman who best represent the ideals of Padua Franciscan High School. The awards of Mr. and Ms. Paduan are given to the seniors who exemplify the finest characteristics of the ideal Padua man and woman. All facets of personality are considered in the selection for this honor including Christian values, Franciscan compassion, academic dedication, strong character, superior leadership qualities, and concerned citizenship.

The following students were nominated for Mr. Paduan: Matthew Anderson, Benjamin Frostino, Matthew Harley Jr., Anthony Perry, and Maxwell Ross. The Mr. Paduan 2022 award went to Benny Frostino.

The following students were nominated for Ms. Paduan: Magdalaina Abood, Brenna Heinzerling, Anna Lindenmuth, Erin Ortiz, and Hilary Woytek. The Ms. Paduan 2022 award went to Brenna Heinzerling.

Unique to Padua’s Athletic Department are the coveted Mr. and Miss Bruin awards. The Athletic Department and coaches select the seniors who most deserve the honor of the best athlete at Padua. The qualities on which the athletes are evaluated are their athletic skills, high school athletic achievements, participation, coachability, sportsmanship, leadership, academics, and school involvement.

The following students were nominated for Mr. Bruin: Evan Brickman, Marcus Harrell Jr., Akinlana Popoola, Nick Rini, Benicio Roman, and Brandon Wilson. The Mr. Bruin 2022 award went to Akinlana Popoola.

The following students were nominated for Ms. Bruin: Charlotte Cohagan, Ella Grasson, Brenna Heinzerling, Lyuba Majerle, Arianna Pomirleanu, Maya Smith, and Hannah Tahsler. The Ms. Bruin 2022 award went to Brenna Heinzerling.

The Phi Beta Kappa Award is meant to recognize a student who exemplifies outstanding scholarship, shows academic initiative, and embodies total achievement. The 2022 Phi Beta Kappa Award went to Benny Frostino.
