Virtual Bruin Benefit Raises $255,412 for Tuition Assistance

April 26th, 2020 | News, News 2020

Our first-ever Virtual Bruin Benefit raised $255,412 on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25, 2020. The online event brought many Padua supporters together virtually to celebrate and support the mission, while having fun from the comfort of their own homes.

Padua President Fr. Allan DaCorte, ofm began the night with a prayer and a toast. Auctioneer/Principal Dave Stec ’86 announced the live auction items on Padua’s YouTube channel. It featured 10 premier items, including a private round-trip flight to watch a round of the Masters in Augusta from Dave Zavagno ’72, a behind-the-scenes tour of the Goodyear Blimp Hangar from Senior Pilot Joe Erbs ’87, a Food Truck Experience from Thyme Catering, and the ever-popular seven-course feast catered by Chefs Fr. Allan DaCorte, ofm and Principal David Stec ’86. Supporters also bid on more than 100 silent auction items.

Our Fund-A-Bruin portion of the program was kicked off by Frank Raso ’89 and his daughter Olivia Raso ’21. Generous supporters raised their virtual paddles and donated over $153,000 to the program, which keeps tuition affordable for all of our families.

Thank you to the sponsors, donors and participants who made the weekend a success. The proceeds from the benefit will be used to continue the mission of Padua Franciscan High School.

Please mark your calendar for next year’s Bruin Benefit on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Stay tuned for details on another exciting event!
