Padua Franciscan High School seniors Tommy Futey ’23 and Alex Quang ’23 were recognized as National Merit Finalists in February 2023.
Approximately 15,000 finalists throughout the nation have been recognized for their exceptional academic promise. These finalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. More than 1.5 million students entered the 2023 competition by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
About Tommy Futey
Futey is a participant in Padua’s MyTrack® Law program. He is a member of National Honor Society and also active in Creative Writing Club. Futey is a graduate of St. Michael School.
Futey was filled with gratitude. “Thank you to all of the great people in my life who support me and help me achieve as much as I can,” he said.
About Alex Quang
Quang is a four-year participant in Padua’s MedTrack® program. He is a member of National Honor Society and also active in Astronomy Club. Quang is a graduate of Sts. Joseph & John School.
Quang was quick to credit his peers for playing a part in his academic success. “All of my classmates at Padua played a huge role, since they’re a huge reason I enjoy showing up to school every day.”
The Bruins earned perfect and near-perfect scores on their ACTs.
