Padua Drama Camp wraps with performances of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”

That’s a wrap!

Padua’s two-week Drama Camp experience concluded this weekend (June 29-30), as the students presented two performances of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” inside the Padua Franciscan High School gymnasium.

“The Little Mermaid” chronicles the journey of Ariel, a young mermaid who wants to experience the human world after a life in the sea. Along the way, Ariel is guided by her friends, Flounder the tropical fish and Sebastian the crab. As Ariel continues to consider what life must be like on dry land, the curious mermaid falls for Prince Eric, and later, makes a deal with Ursula (the evil sea witch) to become human.

Prior to the performances, the students in grades 6-12 sharpened their acting skills, singing, dancing, stagecraft, and lighting under the direction of Padua’s Mrs. Tamara Stoica-Plaster and Ms. Kira Seaton, a member of Tri-C West’s music faculty.

The students showcased their skills to capacity crowds of proud family members and friends for both performances. A special thanks to Padua’s faculty, alumni and current students who helped make the camp such a successful and fun experience for our future Bruins, some of whom are children of Padua alumni! Great job Bruins!
