Padua Franciscan High School has announced plans to install air conditioning in both the Gym and Library during the current spring semester. Construction on the game-changing project is expected to begin soon.

The $250,000 project will primarily be funded with federal EANS funds, in addition to the generosity of Padua’s Class of 1973 and their 50th reunion gift to the school.

“The project to air-condition these important spaces has provided a way for our class to reunite while embracing the future of Padua and helping to fulfill its mission,” said class leader Pat Greco ’73.

Their gift will help transform two of our largest spaces into year-round comfortable places to compete, learn and gather.

“It has been a joy to work with the Dynasty of 1973 and to partner together for such an important change for our school,” said President Dave Stec ’86. “This has been a long time coming and we are thrilled for it to become a reality.”

The A/C project is projected to wrap up this summer, allowing students and entire community to enjoy cooler spaces when school resumes in August.

The Gym and Library will join a number of existing places on campus that already have A/C, including the Cafeteria, two Computer Labs, the Mac Lab, MedTrack Media Center and several offices.

Additional improvements to the campus will be announced this spring.
