Padua seniors realized now more than ever – they have younger peers who care about their actions.

Grade school students from St. Anthony of Padua wrote letters encouraging prom-goers to be safe and make good choices on prom weekend.

“Please be safe and drive carefully,” said a third grader who hand-delivered letters with his classmates on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. “Be nice to your friends and remember don’t do drugs,” said another student.

Teachers and administrators at St. Anthony of Padua and Padua Franciscan High School organized the Prom Letter Project. This has been a long-standing tradition with the partner schools. Every year the letters are very impactful on Padua’s seniors. They enjoy reading them and meeting young students who look up to them. It makes students think twice before driving under the influence.

About 175 prom-goers received letters ahead of the dance, which is on Friday, May 12, 2017.
