Padua Franciscan High School seniors Alex Quang ’23 and Tommy Futey ’23 have been recognized as National Merit Semifinalists.
Approximately 16,000 Semifinalists throughout the nation have been recognized for their exceptional academic promise. These Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. More than 1.6 million students entered the 2023 competition by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
These academically talented Padua seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for more than 7,000 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million. Over 90 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to advance to the National Merit Finalist standing. They will be notified in February 2023.
Quang is a graduate of Sts. Joseph & John School. Futey previously attended St. Michael School.
